If you follow me on Twitter, @GarethBarlow and read my tweets, you might have seen that I won an award last week.
At the Deliciouslyorkshire seventh annual awards ceremony I was delighted and honoured to be presented with the Outstanding Newcomer to Food and Drink 2011-2012 Award. To be eligible for the award producers or suppliers had to have been trading for two years or less. The judges were looking for evidence of:
Quality – accreditation, company ethos, sustainability policies, product
Impact made – sales, awards won, PR, marketing
Potential to succeed – business plan, sales forecasts
Cath Clelland, Chair of Deliciouslyorkshire, said: “Year on year the quality of entrants has been exemplary and reinforces Yorkshire’s position as a leading force in the UK’s food and drink sector. Many congratulations to all the entrants on setting the bar even higher this year – and special mention to Gareth Barlow for a very deserving win in a particularly competitive category.”
I was shortlisted alongside three other finalists; Drewton’s Ltd, The Yorkshire Pantry and Wilson and Richardson Food Ltd – they’re brilliant companies who produce and supply some amazing food. Check them out!
